Your Gift will make Room for You

Abimelech, the king of Philistine sent lsaac away from Gerar as he could not stand his greatness and the blessings of God upon his life ( Genesis 26:16). So lsaac departed from Gerar and pitched his tent at the valley of Gerar and his servant dug a well and found running water in a well previously dug by his father, but the Philistine claimed ownership. They left it and dug another well and the Philippines quarrelled and claimed ownership . Again , they dug another well and there was no controversy about it , so. lsaac called the place Rehoboth, meaning , “the Lord has made room for us , and we shall be fruitful in the land “( Genesis 26:22).

After three attempts, God made room for lsaac, do you know why? Because he was the promised child of Abraham? No, but for his personality, his gifts and who he was. Isaac was a patient man, a peace lover, a resilient and great leader. He didn’t not use his wealth to oppress his enemies but he quietly left the well and moved to dig another one after the Philistines claimed ownership even over his father’s well. His dispositions to the ordeal by virtue of his personality moved God to make room for him and his household at the third attempt. Isaac having be forced to move further away by the local herdsmen now have an enormous estate to cater for his prospering possessions in peace. Isaac gifts made room for him in accordance with the word of God.

King Solomon also confirmed in Proverbs 18:16 that A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. There are various examples to support this in the Bible.

The word ‘room’ means an extent of space occupied or where something can be done, especially viewed in terms of whether there is enough space. Therefore if a gift is capable of making room , it means it has the capacity to provide or provoke basis for full potentials in all aspects of life.

God has endowed everyone with a gift or a talent(skills and abilities) for a purpose, remember the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30, Luke 19:11-27),to every servant a talent was given in varied portions. Talent is a way paver to fulfilment of vision and purpose in life , there is therefore need for you to identify your gifts and use it faithfully to the glory of God and mankind. Your gift is a commodity that has to be advertised, make known to great men to buy , to value, to use and to be remembered ; thus opening gates or doors of opportunities for wealth creation.

Father Abraham used his gift of hospitality to entertain angels unknowingly and the gate of his generation blessings with a heir from Sarah became fulfilled even at old age (Genesis 18:1-10 ). Moses was a very humble man ( Numbers 12:3), the gift made him to be a friend of God and had the privilege to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. King David , for his perseverance and the spirit of God endowed in him got anointed thrice ( 1 Samuel 16:13; 2 Samuel 2:4; 2 Samuel 5:3) and reigned over the 12 tribes of lsreal for 40 years and never lost a battle. Joseph’s gift of interpretation of dreams coupled with the spirits of God and discernment made room for him and announced him to King Pharaoh and became prime minister of Egypt and fulfill God’s given purpose to prepare ahead for His people in famine (Psalms 105:17). Peter, was a skilled and courageous fisherman and he became a fisher of men ( Matthew 4:19) and the Rock upon which the church was built ( Matthew 16:18). Apostle Paul was an aggressive and outspoken personality ( Acts 8:3), these gifts made rooms for him to give speeches defending himself and proclaiming the gospel before religious and civil authorities and wrote 13 books( letters) of the new testament.

God has endowed you with a gift (1 Peter 4:10). Have you identified your gift? Identify what you are good at, it may be more than one , those are your gifts from God. If you have not identify this , seek the help of the Holy Spirit. Having identified the gifts , then develop and use them. When the man in the parable of the talents was traveling, he expected multiplication of the talents in return, that’s development and usage of the talents. You should not hide your gift like the servant that received one talent and buried it ( Matthew 25:25), for a hidden gift cannot make room for you ,besides every gift from God is good and perfect ( James 1:17) . Use your gift liberally like Joseph, when he interpreted the dreams for the king’s cupbearer in prison, he never knew that he will be a vessel to open room for him. Father Abraham received and entertained angels unknowingly, so likewise use your gift on daily basis in whatever circumstances you find yourself.

Note that God didn’t say education will makes room for you but the gifts He has endowed you. Education is not the kingdom gift to success, it doesn’t guarantee anything but your gift is the key to success. God promised to teach your hands to make wealth ( Deuteronomy 8:18 ) your gift is what is in your hand that will be a source of blessings . It is the gift that will make room for you and bring you into the lime- light in the presence of great men.

Isaac’s gifts made rooms for him, opened doors of opportunities for him to receive more blessings and assurance from God ( Genesis 26:24) ,as well as respect and friendship from the same Abimelech that drove him away from Gerar ( Genesis 26:28,30). In addition, more wells of water were discovered ( Genesis 26:32) . You can also key into such blessings by exercising and making known to the world the gifts God has endowed you with. Do not hide your gift use it for the glory of God and humanity and doors of opportunities will surely open . You never know when you will entertain angels unawares or when the cup bearer will patronize your gift. Just be modest and be yourself always doing what you know best whenever the opportunity arises .Remember you can only be rewarded for what you do, the more you use your talent to make life better for others , the more opportunities come your way, the more the blessings.

May your gift announce you and bring you forth to Rehoboth in Jesus name amen.
