In response to Jesus’s parents anxiety about His whereabouts after the Passover feast celebration in Jerusalem was ” Why did you seek Me?Did you not know that l must be about My Father’s business?( Luke 2:49). Going about His Father’s business! His parents could not understand Him then. They marvelled! Are we not His parents? Even as the Son of God, whom they knew He was, they still wondered what type of business can God be involved in? At age 12 , Jesus made it clear that He was in this planet to run a business that belongs to His Heavenly Father, this was His first declaration of His Sonship to God and as a human representative and validation of who God is to man.

Let us examine the business scenario. In John 9:4, He emphasized that the work must be done in earnest , “l must work the works of Him who sent Me while in the day”. That , the business is continuous, Sabbath day or not, He must work with full commitment just like His Father( John 5:17). Recall that His Father does not sleep or slumber but working 24/7 ( Psalms 121:4) Now , Jesus having declared that He has come to run a family business tailored after the working hours / pattern of His Father. One may then wonder, What is the business the Father has asked He to come and do in this planet? The work/ business of salvation of mankind through redemption of sins so that man will be restored to God and have external life with Him forever ( Hebrews 5:8-9). Business type defined – Salvation! Next, Is there a business premises ? Yes, the Temple( both physical and spiritual). The Bible recorded that when He got to the Temple in Jerusalem,He found those who were using Him business premises for merchandising, He immediately took ownership and sent them out ( John 2:14-16) . The next thing was to rebrand the premises and have a signpost -‘A House of Prayers’ and commenced the business by teaching the Good News of Salvation daily in the business premises ( Luke 19:46). Who were the customers ? The assigned customers were the Chosen People of His Father( Genesis 17:7, Jeremiah 30:22), and Jesus said my Father, the business owner , has sent me specifically to the lost sheep of Israel, but like any other businesses, patronage extended to other customers by grace (Matthew 15:24). Having established the business settings , Jesus then started His earthly Ministry and went about the business of preaching the Gospel , serving people, casting out demons, working of miracles and healing people afflicted with different diseases. He went about the business with humility even to the point of death and He was fully one with the Father,seeking his approvals through prayers. Every successes and milestones achieved were to the Glory of His Father, the business owner, always having conversations with Him ,working only to please the owner and running the business according to His dictates. He successfully accomplished His Father’s Business , with His death on the cross and resurrection after 3 days( 1Cornitians 15:14) . His Father was well pleased with Him for a job well done He bestowed on Him, All Power and Authority in Heaven and on Earth ( Matthew 28:18). What an honor and exaltation by the Father, that He gave Him a Name above all Names ( Luke 14:11). Wow! He bagged the highest honor in Heaven and Earth for obedience, diligence, humility and thoroughness. Thank You God for sending Jesus to run Your Business on Earth and Thank You Jesus for being obedient to the death on the cross (Philippians 2:8) . Thank You being the sacrifical lamb for our sins. Thank You for creating a business opportunity for us in the Kingdom

Now, Jesus having successful accomplished His assignments “retired’ and ascended into heaven to take His rightful position at the Right hand of the God.. There is need for the business to continue, it cannot fold up because of the efforts, sacrifices made and many followers hence,the need to transfer the continuous running of His Father Business to His children until He comes back in His Glory . If you are a child of God , then you have responsibility to carry on the work of Salvation. By the virtue of the relationship that you have entered with Jesus (John 1:12),He has entrusted and transferred to you the continuous running of His Father’s business. The then ,Jesus’s Father Business is now your Business. Congratulations! The most glorious, blessed, profitable and flourishing business is now in your care as an inheritance . The transfer is full ,you now have Your Father’s Business to run!!! However, note that the scenario is different, as you are an adopted and co-opted partner into the business by ransom paid with the Blood of Jesus,the first manager of the Business.

Jesus in His wisdom, left a description/ blue print for those that will be entrusted with the running of the business . These are clearly spelt out in Matthew 28:19-20, thus:

• Go to all the Nations

• Make disciples of all the Nation

• Baptize them in the name of the Father,Son and Holy Spirit

• Teach them to observe all things that Jesus have commanded and laid out

In carrying out this assignment, Jesus promised continuous training by His presence (Matthew 28:20) and Gift of the Holy Spirit – Helper, (John 14:26) who will train you the mastery of doing your inherited business. This business option is open ended to all children of God regardless of your educational background, business skills, gender, age. and color. All you need to be successful is OBEDIENCE to the calling and being under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit. This business outline may look simple, but l reckon,is tough but achievable and rewarding. Why it is tough?, You cannot see your boss,(Exodus 33:20) but only feel His presence (virtual), the principles of operating the business are fixed( Revelation 22:19)- not amenable to time and technology development. The business environment may be rough and not conducive most of the time as you face varied persecutions. However, there are good sides to the deal, the market is large, possibility of bountiful harvest if you work hard, there is no monopoly, a level playing ground for all business owners, availability of a 24/7 , free Trainer that knows all the business techniques and there’s a good reward system. There is option of doing the business on part- time or full time basis, the choice is yours. The modus -operandi of the business are varied, direct conversations, intercessory prayers, counseling , radio message, social media etc, Like any business, there is free entry and exit for many are called but few are chosen. Beware and be serious minded to make a success of the business.

There is a fair and just performance- based reward system attached to your results in this business. Apostle Paul confirmed in Hebrew 11:6 that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. The first manger, Jesus Christ in his teachings confirmed a hundredfold reward both in the earth and heaven and inheritance of external life for partakers in this business (Luke 18:28-30). As you win souls for the Kingdom, you sow into righteousness and there’s a crown of rejoicing awaiting you in heaven and the crown will be decorated with stars depending on your deliverables ( Daniel 12:3, 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20) . You cannot work for Him and would not be paid, who has preceded me that l have not paid? None ( Job 41:11 ). Be diligent and committed to your deliverables so as to be worthy to stand before Him and claim your rewards.

Now that you understand the outlay of Your Father’s Business, when do want to key into it ?or are you already loading your Heavenly accounts with Rewards as you made Disciples of men ? Do you want to earn your crown and start accumulating stars or you want to get to heaven without any crown! Be wise, King Solomon said,in Proverbs 11:30, the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life and he who wins soul is wise. A wise Christian will engage in His Father’s Business and win souls for the Kingdom. Start the Business Today, it is the Best Business opportunity on Earth , start gathering your wealth in Heaven. Open your shop today , the Trainer will take you through the fundamentals. Be Bold to take the first step into the business of Evangelism, recruit members for the Kingdom. Earn your Crown of Rejoicing amidst other rewards!!! Grow Your Father’s Business!!!!
